The person behind ArtQueen is Rebecca Salomonsson, who has worked with art, exhibitions, happenings, and events for 19 years. Her passion for art is like a ball of fire—she is constantly inspired by the world around her, which continually leads her to new projects and challenges.

The idea for Art & Fashion was born from her desire to reach audiences with art in a fresh, exciting way. Inspiration came from her close friend and artist RaRa Superstar in Los Angeles, who for many years painted Rebecca's clothes and shoes. With RaRa’s vibrant personality and Rebecca’s own colorful energy, it was clear how naturally this project would take shape. In 2013, supported by her wide network of friends, Rebecca hosted the very first Art & Fashion gathering, bringing her dream to life.

In the summer of 2014, at Sweden Rock Festival, Rebecca met the band Black Diamond and was struck by their music. After a meeting, it was decided that Black Diamond would collaborate on the upcoming Art & Fashion show, Wild & Crazy, performing live on stage with the models.

Black Diamond was formed in Sweden in 2011 by Michael Olsson (drums), Patrik Påhlman (bass), Magnus Bergman (guitar), and Liselott Wernersson (vocals). Having previously played together in a pure metal band, Michael reached out to Patrik to form a new project, who brought in Magnus. Soon after, they found Liselott and the lineup was complete. After early performances at private parties and local events in 2012–2013, the band played at major Swedish festivals such as Helgeå and Killebom in 2014 and 2015.

From there, Art & Fashion continued to grow, surprising audiences with its unique way of showcasing art on clothing and other materials in ways never seen before. On June 26th, 2015, the show was featured at the Harley Days Festival in Hamburg, Germany. The following year, Art & Fashion traveled to Los Angeles to appear at the Venice Beach Music Festival, an event as colorful as the project itself.

In November 2017, Art & Fashion performed for RAW at Dessi Allinger’s Bel Air home, followed by another unforgettable RAW showcase in Los Angeles in August 2018. The most recent shows included RAW Miami in November 2019, and earlier collaborations with RAW in Los Angeles.

Today, Art & Fashion stands as a vibrant, cross-disciplinary platform where art, music, and fashion meet—always evolving, always inspired, and always ready for the next stage.

Previously, ArtQueen has collaborated with artists and seamstresses to bring her visions to life for various art and fashion shows. After almost 20 years of working as an art consultant, she felt inspired to step into a more personal creative role and make her own original pieces. This new chapter led her to experiment with second-hand blazers, which she spray painted and embellished by hand. The result is a collection of one-of-a-kind art blazers—each with its own distinctive character, transforming everyday garments into wearable works of art.
